Pharmacy Technician Resume – How to Prepare a Professional Resume
Okay so you are done with all the hard work that came from becoming a pharmacy technician now it is time to start looking for a job and that means you are going to need a resume, of course a pharmacy technician resume is no different than any other. Nevertheless, resumes are a very important part of the job search process and it may be hard for those of you that have no experience in the work world. I am sure you are wondering what kind of things hiring pharmacies are looking for when it comes to writing your resume.
First of all when you begin writing your resume you want to put what your career objective is, so that the hiring manager knows what you are looking to do in the pharmaceutical field. Make sure that you list any pharmacy technician training, certifications, and any honors that you may have been given while in school. You want your resume to stand out so listing these things will help do that. On top of that put any additional special skills that you may have such as speaking a different language or that you have dealt with the billing of insurance for customers. You are also going to want to list all of your specialty pharmacy technician certifications for example, compounding or diabetes management.
When you get to the all important part of past work experiences make sure that you actually describe the work and responsibilities expected of you at your past employment. If you are recently out of school and looking for a job, put together a list of all internships, externships, and preceptorships. You can also list any work experience that you may have had outside of the medical field so that the hiring manager can see that you have had work stability in the past. Something else that you should list is any association with professional organizations that will help boost the look and professionalism of your resume.
Some of the resume dont’s are not putting your personal interests or hobbies if the manager or pharmacist wants to know those additional details they will ask you. Make sure that your spelling is correct there is nothing worse than making a resume and having several spelling errors. Try to keep your resume down to a single page if you can, if you have to do two or more pages because of your huge list of academics or specialty certifications then so be it.
The pharmaceutical industry is in high demand as of late, but you should never expect to just nab a job because of that reason.
